In the 1st episode of the captivating showroom tour series, the Marketing Manager of Liang & Eimil, Ai Pheng, warmly welcomes you to embark on a visual adventure through the stunning Liang & Eimil showroom. With great enthusiasm, she is eager to present the first featured area, the Cosy Bouclé Retreat. It is an inviting setting that comfortably accommodates around nine people.
As you step into this captivating space, your eyes are instantly drawn to the luxurious Bouclé fabric that adorns all the upholstery pieces. Bouclé, known for its softness and texture, has captured the hearts of many design enthusiasts. Taking center stage is the magnificent Keiron Sofa, intricately detailed with channel stitching, which lends a captivating dimension to the overall design.
To complement the sofa, Ai Pheng explores the charming Epic armchairs and Bola chairs, placed on either side. The Epic armchair boasts solid wooden legs, perfectly harmonising with the neutral bouclé fabric, while the added ball cushion brings a playful touch to the design.
With a keen eye for thoughtful design, Ai Pheng points out the versatility of the Bola chair. Its simplistic form belies the intricacy of its engineering, allowing for modularity. Whether arranged together to form a sofa or placed separately as individual chairs, the Bola chair effortlessly adapts to different occasions.

Meet Poppy Peace: House of Red’s Talented Founder
In this Designer Spotlight edition, we are thrilled to introduce you to Poppy Peace, the creative genius behind House of Red, a prominent London-based design studio specialising in FF&E interior design, luxury home staging, and furniture collections. Not only is she a skilled interior designer, but she also manages the delicate art of balancing her professional life with her role as a devoted mother to two young boys. A Leap of Faith
Poppy’s venture into the realm of interior design has been truly remarkable. With 16 years of experience as Managing Director and Group Creative Director at a renowned design studio, she embarked on a courageous journey to establish her own business, House of Red. Motivated by her yearning to push her creative boundaries and assume full autonomy over her endeavours, this decision has proven to be immensely fulfilling.
A Peek into Poppy’s Daily Routine
As a business owner, Poppy’s days are filled with diverse tasks, depending on the projects she’s working on. However, amidst the bustling schedule, she has a fixed morning routine that sets the tone for her day. Rising at 6 am, she enjoys a nourishing breakfast and a refreshing green tea before engaging in half an hour of exercise. This is followed by an hour of admin work, blending both professional and family responsibilities. It’s a method that ensures she tackles her most challenging tasks head-on and starts her day with focus and clarity.
Interior Design: A Childhood Passion
Interior design has been an integral part of Poppy’s life since childhood. At the age of 11, she showcased her love for interiors by revamping her bedroom, going as far as removing the wallpaper and rearranging furniture. From there, her passion grew, and she immersed herself in continually redesigning rooms in her family home. Her creative spirit took her to university to study furniture and product design before delving deeper into the world of interior design.
Evolution of a Career
Poppy’s career journey in interior design was shaped by a fortuitous opportunity as a Design Consultant, working on bespoke furniture designs. Through various roles and experiences, she eventually became the Managing Director of a distinguished interior design studio. The founders of that studio served as her inspiring mentors, instilling a genuine love for her work and driving her passion for design and business.
Current and Future Projects
At House of Red, there is no shortage of exciting projects. Currently, the team is working on a project near Tower Bridge, preparing for a site visit in Somerset, and quoting on a couple of home staging ventures within the city. While their projects have mainly been residential so far, Poppy envisions expanding their horizons into Europe and beyond, building on her prior experience working on international projects.
Designing with the Client in Mind
A fundamental aspect of House of Red’s design process is establishing a strong and personalised brief with the client. Understanding their aesthetic preferences, lifestyle, and functional needs lays the foundation for creating practical and beautiful solutions tailored to their unique vision.

When it comes to interior design briefs, she believes it’s the designer’s responsibility to educate clients about sustainability and incorporate it into projects with the support of the supply chain.

Collaborating with Liang & Eimil for over 10 years, Poppy doesn’t remember how they initially connected. She mentioned that the owner Honghui, has always been delightful and their relationship has grown over time. Their unique and classic designs make them a go to choice, especially for last-minute projects. Planning and Coordination
The first step in any successful photoshoot is meticulous planning and coordination. Understanding the hotel’s busy operations, we collaborated closely with the hotel team to find convenient timing. Their cooperation and support were instrumental in creating a harmonious atmosphere on set. Additionally, we coordinated the timings with the availability of our photographers to ensure a smooth workflow.Â
Our dedicated team transformed the honours check-in section of the hotel into a stunning set, capturing the essence of luxury and sophistication. In a stroke of serendipity, we approached one of the workers at Conrad London who graciously agreed to be a part of our photoshoot. With their natural charm and grace, they added an authentic touch to our visuals, making the experience even more extraordinary. With meticulous planning, creative problem-solving, and unwavering teamwork, we managed to seamlessly bring our vision to life, creating an unforgettable experience for all.
Timing and Space Utilisation
Given the hotel’s 5-star status and high occupancy, our priority was to respect the guests’ experience. We carefully scheduled the photoshoot sessions, considering room availability and peak periods. Special attention was given to avoiding disruptions to ongoing events and ensuring that hotel guests were undisturbed during their stay. Â
When capturing the foyer, we specifically timed it after the busy checkout times to minimise any inconveniences.
Setting Up the Shots
Attention to detail was paramount for each shot. The hotel’s stunning interiors, crafted by Bergman Design House, already provided a luxurious and elegant backdrop. However, we meticulously fine-tuned the furniture, lighting, and accessories to create visually captivating compositions. Ensuring each piece was positioned at the optimal angle, we found that even slight adjustments made a significant difference. This careful composition resulted in cleverly arranged spaces with overlapping elements that enhanced the overall aesthetic.Â
Despite the presence of hotel visitors, we successfully executed the perfect shot in the executive lounge section, seamlessly coordinating with the staff to ensure minimal disruption to the guests’ experience.
Lighting and Styling
Achieving the perfect lighting and ambience is crucial in capturing the essence of Liang & Eimil’s designs. Our team ensure optimal illumination for each shot. We also style each space with complementary accessories and accents, elevating the overall aesthetic of the compositions.Â
By carefully decorating the space and utilising the power of lighting, we were able to accentuate the details of the furniture and create a captivating interplay of shadows and highlights.
Collaborative Spirit
Throughout the photoshoot, a strong spirit of collaboration permeated the entire team. We exchanged ideas, perspectives, and feedback to ensure that every shot encapsulated the essence of Liang & Eimil’s brand.
