Over his distinguished 25-year career, Neil has consistently demonstrated his expertise in crafting and implementing effective manufacturing strategies across diverse businesses.

His leadership has been pivotal in developing and guiding production teams to resolve complex technical and supply chain issues. Additionally, Neil has managed production activities, conducted demand analysis, handled product costing, led supplier negotiations, and managed contracts with subcontract manufacturers and logistics providers.

A vibrant fusion of ‘Miami chic’ brought to London by Studio Howes. Inspired by the sun-soaked vibes of Miami beach living, this project embodies sophistication and playfulness while maximising space and light. Designed by Giverny Simm and Rebecca Conolly from Studio Howes, this transformation reflects a commitment to captivating aesthetics and client satisfaction.

Project Brief and Challenges

Brief: Bringing ‘Miami chic’ to the heart of London’s rapidly transforming Nine Elms. Studio Howes embarked on transforming their client’s new build apartment in Thames City, inspired by the sun-soaked vibes of Miami beach living, it reflected in the designers choice of colour palette. This project also features a bespoke media wall & bar along with a tailored AV system, it stands as a testament to Studio Howes’ ability to not only meet the brief but also create interiors that evoke a sense of home for their clients during their visits to the UK.

Challenges: Lead times as always are one of the challenges in a project, in this instance it was the joinery pieces taking longer than anticipated but with clear communication and a flexible team of suppliers, they managed to work together to meet the handover date.

Inspiration and Vision

Vision: The vision for the Miami Chic project was that Studio Howes’ client arrived in London with just his suitcase and that his property was ready for him to call home. Studio Howes were delighted with the outcome and thrilled that their client was too.

Design Inspiration: The client’s main residence is in Miami, which was naturally the main inspiration behind the project. The client was also worried about the apartment feeling dark and small. This directed Studio Howes designers, Giverny Simm and Rebecca Connolly to use lighter finishes and less heavy furniture pieces to help maximise the space.

Favourite Part of the Project: The designers loved how the main open plan reception/dining area turned out. It was their clients main concern when purchasing the apartment, as unfurnished, it felt smaller than it was anticipated. They however opted for more soft curves and angles to draw the eye around the space resulting it feeling more open and spacious without compromising on style or comfort.

Selection of Furniture, Lighting, and Accessories: Ultimately at Studio Howes, the client is the driver when it comes to them specifying the furniture and lighting. They are very much client led and pride themselves in being able to design to their clients wants and needs.

Design Tips

“Our top tip would always be, try to get an expert involved. Surprisingly it could work out to be more cost effective than making costly mistakes when taking on a project yourself. Alternatively, another tip would be take your time and invest in higher quality pieces that are going to grow with your interior preferences as opposed to opting for fast interior trends!”
